Practice Areas
Public Administration
Administrative law, including the relevant EU-laws, governs the organisation, procedures, and actions of the public administration. Administrative law also regulates the relations between the public sector and private companies or citizens, as well as the relations between the different bodies of the public sector.
The rules of the procedures and actions of the public administration form some of the other practice areas of NORDIA, including life science, energy, environment, taxation, employment, and competition. For instance, administration law governs the procedures for the approval of pharmaceutical companies and pharmaceuticals, for the issue of exploitation or environmental permits, for the collection of taxes, of the different complaint boards regarding tax assessment and collection, for the public control of working environment, and for market control.
However, NORDIA also offers advice in the field of administrative law outside of these practice areas. For example, NORDIA assists municipalities and other public bodies in disputes regarding their internal split of costs for social aid.
NORDIA’s competencies comprise, for example
- General public law issues
- Public procurement
- Public tenders
- Privatisation and outsourcing
- Public enterprising
- Approval and permission applications (for example, regarding environmental issues, access to business, or pharmaceuticals)
- Legal inquiries
- Complaint board and administrative court cases
- Expropriation
NORDIA‘s clients within this practice area are public authorities, public enterprises, private businesses, and individuals.
